Design
Alongside her directing credits Mackay works as a designer and installation artist and has created the overall aesthetic for most of her own productions. She has designed and made costumes, sets, puppets, large scale lanterns, fire drawing and designs using pyrotechnics. Margie has been a guest maker and designer in many different settings including for: Strange Fruit, Born in a Taxi, and Clock 'n Spiel street theatre. In costumery, she is best known for her designs for The Hunting Party street theatre company. Margie creates designs for performance that are experienced as resonant and poetic interventions - conversations between self, space & other/s.
